It gives me immense pleasure to extend my heartfelt greetings to all stakeholders, partners, and members of the Informal Sector Industry Skills Council (ISISC).
Bangladesh’s informal sector plays a vital role in our national economy, employing a significant portion of the workforce and contributing substantially to poverty reduction and livelihood generation. However, a large number of workers in this sector still remain outside the formal training and certification system. Recognizing this challenge, the Informal Sector ISC is committed to integrating informal workers into the mainstream national skills development framework.
Our mission is to identify, assess, and enhance the skills of informal workers through competency-based training, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), and industry-led initiatives. We firmly believe that every worker, regardless of background or circumstance, deserves recognition and equal opportunities for growth and advancement.
Through close collaboration with the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA), development partners, and industry associations, we are striving to establish quality standards, strengthen training systems, and improve employability opportunities both nationally and internationally.
Together, we aspire to transform Bangladesh’s informal workforce into a formally recognized, skilled, and empowered community that contributes meaningfully to our nation’s vision of becoming a developed country by 2041.
I warmly invite all stakeholders to join hands with the Informal Sector ISC in this important journey toward inclusive and sustainable skills development.
